  • YouScience: Available to WCTC students and graduates, this in-depth assessment can help you learn about what you naturally do well and what you like doing to connect you to career options.

  • Other Wisconsin Technical Colleges: The Wisconsin Technical College System has 49 campuses. The colleges offer more than 300 programs awarding two-year associate degrees, one- and two-year technical diplomas, and short-term technical diplomas.
  • Universities of Wisconsin: Through a constellation of 13 universities and campuses statewide, the Universities of Wisconsin are home to world-class education, research, and public service.

There’s a lot that goes into landing your dream job. If you've lost your job or are ready for a new challenge, take advantage of Career Connections’ many classes and workshops. Follow these tips to make your job search as smooth and successful as possible:

Create a Stellar Resume

  • Use action verbs to give your resume power and direction. This list features verbs and descriptive words that will get the employer’s attention.
  • Upload your resume in Handshake so employers can find you. Handshake is available to Wisconsin Technical College System students and alumni.

Prepare for Interviewing

Attend Job Fairs

Companies send recruiters, human resources staff, supervisors or current employees to the fair for the purpose of marketing their company, establishing a pool of applicants, and prescreening and interviewing applicants. Your goal is to make positive contacts with potential employers.
