Community Paramedic

Course Description

This course introduces licensed EMS providers to the mobile integrated healthcare (Community Paramedic) discipline. Subject matter includes the role of EMS in the community and the larger healthcare system, social determinants, public health and primary care, cultural competency, personal safety and wellness, and clinical experiences addressing patient histories, physical examinations, documentation, interpreting healthcare data, obtaining specimens, home health equipment, end-of-life issues, chronic health conditions, and other facets of primary healthcare.
