Gain skills to work as an elementary or middle school paraprofessional. Learn to plan and prepare lessons, create and maintain a safe and effective learning environment, and develop and deliver meaningful learning experiences. Participate in principled teaching, including self-reflection, professional growth and purposeful engagement within the broader school community.

Please note: A physical examination and caregiver background check is required prior to a field placement internship course.

What Makes This Program Unique

  1. Registered Teacher Apprentices receive eight hours of release time from their workplace to attend class.
  2. Transfer up to 72 credits to Lakeland University.
  3. Earn the Foundations of Teacher Education associate degree at WCTC before continuing the apprenticeship at Lakeland University.
