Nurses are key to the healthcare team, serving as caregivers, educators and patient advocates. Licensed nurses may work in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities or on the business side of healthcare. Upon successfully completing pre-nursing coursework and being admitted to the Nursing program, qualified students may petition for a seat. If a seat is awarded, students take the additional 38 credits of core Nursing courses to complete their Nursing degree.
Applicants should be current sophomores in high school and must earn a grade of C or better in a year-long chemistry class prior to the start of this program.
WCTC's Dual Enrollment Academy (DEA) is designed to give high school students a jump start in high-demand occupations, awarding participants with a WCTC credential upon successful completion along with earning high school credits.
