Get Ready to Ride

WCTC offers motorcycle classes for riders of all skills levels, from beginner basics to advanced skills. Taking a motorcycle course at WCTC can:

  • Help lower your insurance premiums.    
  • Exempt you from taking the Wisconsin Motorcycle In-Traffic (MIT) skills test to get your motorcycle license.

Classes are offered May through September. You will get hands-on training on WCTC's Vehicle Training Track located at the Pewaukee campus.

Course Options

Basic RiderCourse (BRC)

Designed for novice motorcycle riders, this course includes six hours of classroom time and ten hours of on-cycle instruction to learn the skills you'll need to operate a motorcycle safely. Focus on motorcycle controls, basic riding skills and maneuvering, and basic street riding. Motorcycles are provided for students in this course. View required motorcycle gear.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a waiver form exempting you from taking the Wisconsin Department of Transportation MIT skills test to obtain your motorcycle license.

BRC Fall 2024 Schedule


Basic RiderCourse 2 (BRC2)

An excellent refresher course for riders with some experience, this eight-hour course includes both in-classroom and on-cycle instruction. In this course, the speeds are higher and students ride their own motorcycles. View required motorcycle gear.

  • Focus on street strategies and rider decision making based on past riding experiences and current knowledge.
  • The on-cycle instruction component of this course includes a skills test for a Class M license waiver.
  • Please print and complete the Motorcycle Student Information and Liability forms, and bring them to your first day of class.

BRC2 Fall 2024 Schedule


Ultimate Bike-Bonding RiderCourse (UBBRC)

This advanced eight-hour course is patterned after police motorcycle training courses. The exercises and skill circuits are designed to improve a rider's overall riding performance through smooth and precise control operation, body positioning on the motorcycle and the development of a rider's crash avoidance techniques.   • Students ride their own motorcycles in this course and must have driven at least 2,500 miles on their current bike.
  • Students must show proof of registration and insurance.
  • A completion card is issued to all course participants.
