This class presents the State of Wisconsin Training & Standards Bureau-mandated biennial VPT curriculum. All law enforcement officers are required to attend this four-hour training once during each biennial training period in order to maintain certification as a law enforcement officer in the state of Wisconsin.
While elements of this training are drawn from the standard Emergency Vehicle Operation and Control (EVOC) curriculum, it is not an EVOC course.
The current biennial period is July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2025. Future biennial dates are: July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027, and July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2029.
This class presents basic and/or refresher training drawn from the EVOC curriculum, as determined by WCTC staff and administration in consultation with area law enforcement training personnel. This class does not fulfill a law enforcement officer's training requirement for the State of Wisconsin’s mandated, biennial Vehicle Pursuit Training (VPT).
