Description:

This course meets the NFPA 1001, Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications, training requirements for WTCS Firefighter II certification. (Students must also have completed the Hazardous Materials Operations course, in addition to holding WTCS Firefighter I certification to be eligible for WTCS Firefighter II certification testing.)  Through classroom and practical skills instruction, the student will learn to apply advanced firefighting skills and education to mitigate various emergencies.

This class will meet weekly on Wednesday from 6pm to 9:50pm beginning on 1/22/2025.

Class Prerequisite:

Students must have successfully completed the Firefighter I course to take the Firefighter II course.

Dress code is required.

Rapid Intervention Training is included in this class.

Any student participating in Firefighter I or II training must be evaluated by a physician or other primary qualified health care provider to ensure the student is able to perform the essential firefighting tasks without presenting an unreasonable risk to the safety of others.
