PEWAUKEE, Wis. (Wednesday, March 24, 2021) – Starting in the fall 2021 semester, Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) will offer a new Interior Design (ID) – Kitchen and Bath Design associate degree program.
The program will help students learn to create aesthetically pleasing, environmentally focused kitchen and bath spaces; gain foundational design skills and a specialized understanding of kitchen and bath features; and develop expertise in cabinetry, fixtures, appliances, and electrical and plumbing solutions. Additionally, students will learn to work with architects and builders in specifying materials, and producing floor and lighting plans.
“The new ID-Kitchen and Bath Design associate degree program will help fill a great industry need for qualified designers who are up to speed with all facets of the design/build process,” said WCTC Interior Design instructor Brooks Kyler-Eberlein.
WCTC is only the second technical college in the state to offer the ID-Kitchen and Bath Design program. It builds upon the College’s top-notch Interior Design program that began in 1996, which is an affiliate of the National Kitchen & Bath Association. Additionally, students can combine the new program with the existing Interior Design program and earn two in-demand associate degrees in just three years.
Like all WCTC programs, the Kitchen and Bath Design program was created with input from an advisory committee comprised of industry professionals who help ensure that program curriculum reflects employer expectations and current industry standards.
