Just about every product is carried by truck at some point during its passage from manufacturer to consumer. Prepare to earn the Class A Commercial Truck Driver’s License through WCTC’s Truck Driving program. Practice backing maneuvers, coupling and uncoupling, pre-trip inspections, shifting, and operating tractors and trailers on the highway and in the city. Gain knowledge of federal and state regulations, safety procedures, hazardous materials, bills of lading, loading and securing and air brake systems.
Graduates will have the opportunity to obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License; endorsements for hazardous materials, tankers and doubles/triples; air brake certification; and a National Safety Council Defensive Driving Certificate.
All students must possess a valid regular driver’s license, speak and read English, and be 18 years of age. In addition, students must obtain a DOT Class A learner’s permit to participate in the program. A DOT physical examination and drug test are required for program admission.
