Automotive Technology (Toyota T-TEN/General Option)

About the Program

67-credit associate of applied science degree

National T-Ten website

This section of automotive technology has two options. Students have the choice of pursuing a Toyota T-TEN certification option or take the General option for all makes and models of cars. The courses and curriculum are the same, but students have a choice of completing their coop experience at a Toyota dealer or (in the general option), any automotive dealer or independent repair shop. In either case, a coop/internship is a required part of the program. All students will receive training using the latest automotive vehicles, components and educational materials available. In the classroom, labs and worksite, training will cover the latest developments of automotive technology including engines, fuel management, electronics, transmissions/transaxles, brakes, air conditioning and hybrids.

T-Ten Training LogoToyota T-TEN Option: WCTC and Toyota Motor Sales, USA are in partnership to offer an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology leading to Toyota T-TEN certification. This unique program combines the learning resources at WCTC with "real world" job experience at Toyota/Lexus dealerships. In the program, students must complete a minimum of 144 hours of worksite (coop) experience and pass two ASE certification tests to be considered a Toyota T-TEN graduate. Students must have a sponsoring dealership while in the Automotive Technology Toyota T-TEN option. WCTC will help identify interested dealerships for coop sites, but students are responsible to seek and acquire their own dealership sponsor

General Automotive AAS Option: Limited space is reserved in this program for non-manufacturer-specific students desiring an Associate Degree. General automotive students will take the same courses as Toyota T-TEN students, but will have the choice of any dealership or independent repair shop to gain industry experience through internship/coop. Students must have a sponsoring dealership while in the Automotive Technology General option. WCTC will help identify interested dealerships/shops for coop sites, but students are responsible to seek and acquire their own dealership/shop sponsor.
