Learning in Retirement (LIR) is sponsored by Waukesha County Technical College. A 11-member board of retired adults directs the activities for over 500 members. WCTC-LIR is an affiliate of the Elderhostel Institute Network and one of over 300 similar institutes located throughout the country meeting the continuing educational needs and interests of its members.

Elderhostel Institute Network

Elderhostel, Inc. is a non-profit organization with over 25 years of experience providing high-quality, affordable, educational adventures for adults 55 and older. These short term educational programs are fun and exciting, giving you a place to share new ideas, explore new places, learn new skills, and make new friends.

When and Where are Classes Held?

LIR classes are held on the WCTC campus in Pewaukee, at the WCTC Waukesha Campus, or at other facilities in the nearby area. Classes meet during the day. Brochures describing the class offerings are published and mailed twice a year.
