510-479B Physical Aspects of Aging

A series of seven (7) courses has been developed that will provide an understanding of the aging process and examine issues of concern to the older adult in today?s society. The target audience is healthcare providers interested in the care of older adults. These are Internet only courses Waukesha County Technical College is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation. Each course is being offered for five (5) contact hours. Course Description: Focus on understanding the physical aspects of the aging process that are associated with elderly populations. Topics include hearing loss, visual impairments, mobility issues and specific diseases such as Parkinson?s disease, stroke, arthritis and diabetes.
