510-468 School Nurse Conference
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) covers a wide range of symptoms, skills and levels of impairment that children with ASD may have. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) has made changes to what is included in this disorder. The Wisconsin Association of School Nurses (WASN) District 6 conference will provide an overview and update of ASD in children, review medication and treatment modalities, explore the impact of ASD on the family system, address pertinent nursing assessment for students with ASD in the school setting, present personal family stories for those with children of ASD and much more. Open to anyone interested in the care of children.
There is no prerequisite for this course.
