Automation 6 - Integration

12-credit Certificate

Examine the basic operation, programming and application of personal computers and their associated devices in industrial systems; write Lab View and Visual Basic language programs to interface the microprocessor to external devices used in industrial systems. Practice using robots while studying their operation, basic programming and applications; and use acquired skills to operate and interface mechanical, digital, PLC fluid power, servo and robotic systems.

  • Credits from this short-term certificate may be applied toward the General Manufacturing AAS degree and other degree and diploma programs within the manufacturing areas of the School of Applied Technologies.

Credit Transfer Opportunities

WCTC has agreements with local high schools and various four-year colleges and universities that enable students to transition more seamlessly from high school to WCTC to four-year colleges. Transcripted credit agreements provide high school students the opportunity to take WCTC courses at their high schools. Agreements with four-year colleges enable WCTC graduates in selected programs to transfer credits, often at junior-level standing. Agreements currently in place for this program are listed below.
