Duties
Provide instruction in the reading and study skills area. Must be skilled in providing individualized as well as classroom instruction. Other duties include, but are not limited to, curriculum skills, ability to effectively deal with a variety of instruction, including technology into teaching of coursework. Applicant should be able to provide Academic Support to students enrolled in courses when the focus is on improving reading skills (comprehensive, word knowledge, word fluency, study skills etc.) The successful applicant will be responsible for completing requirements to obtain and maintain current teaching certification from the Wisconsin Technical College System Board.
Qualifications
1. Evidence of post secondary teaching experience in Adult Basic Education.
2. 18 graduate level credits in Reading preferred.
3. Master’s degree in Reading preferred.
4. One year occupational (non-teaching) experience.
5. Eligibility for Wisconsin Technical College System Teacher’s Certification.
6. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and instruct quality reading education programs.
7. Two years of successful teaching experience preferred.
8. Computer-based instruction experience desirable.
