Peer tutoring is available for specific technical-level courses. Peer tutors are students who have been successful in a particular course and who have been identified and recommended by faculty. Peer tutors do not teach, but offer guidance and assistance to students who are experiencing difficulty with a specific course. This service is FREE to students; peer tutors are paid $8.75/hour.
Become a Peer Tutor
- Competent completion (“A” or “B”) in the course you wish to tutor.
- Instructor recommendation from the completed course.
- Flexibility, willingness to help others and availability to tutor on campus.
Benefits of being a Peer Tutor:
- Learn collaboration techniques, listening skills, goal setting, problem solving, and interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Serves as a resume builder, provides job experience, and can be used as a reference for your resume.
- Strengthen your self-esteem, make a new friend, discover your strengths and weaknesses, become more self-aware, and learn empathy and patience.

Peer tutoring must take place on campus. You and your tutor will determine days and times of the tutoring sessions.
