The Global Education Center offers short-term faculty-led education abroad programs for students. These are typically one to two weeks in duration and led by a WCTC instructor with a passion for international travel and global issues. Most programs utilize summer, winter or spring break for the travel component. Students can expect pre-departure orientation and coursework, in-country reflection, and a post-program paper, project or presentation. Please see the information below for program-specific details.

Business & Economic Studies: Vienna, Austria
14 days, November
In Vienna, attend classes with students from around the world while being taught by a WCTC instructor. After classes each day, visit a variety of high-level businesses and banks to get a practical view of how business concepts function in Europe. Free time will be spent exploring some of Europe's historic landmarks, such as the Mauthausen concentration camp from World War II. Host families provide lodging and an immersive cultural experience for participants.
Transcultural Healthcare: Antigua & Panajachel, Guatemala

Through this experience, learn about the Guatemalan healthcare landscape and the disparities between the wealthy and the impoverished. The group spends a few days touring the colonial city of Antigua and transitions to the Lake Atitlan region to complete volunteer projects that aim to directly improve the health of indigenous Guatemalans. The experience leads WCTC School of Health students to become more well-rounded healthcare professionals.
Hessen Exchange: Frankfurt, Germany

Visit WCTC's partner school in Frankfurt to learn about vocational education in Germany, tour businesses related to the student's field of study, travel to other historic German cities and visit cultural landmarks. Host families provide lodging and an immersive cultural experience for participants.
International Service Learning: Guatemala City, Guatemala

This multi-disciplinary program focuses on the history and culture of Guatemala and is designed for students who are interested in volunteering their time and wide range of talents. While abroad, mornings are spent on the volunteer assignment and afternoons are filled with cultural activities and events.
Tri-Country Seminar: Germany, Northern Ireland, United States
10 days, April
This seminar rotates each year through the countries listed above, while maintaining a constant theme for the three-year complete rotation. Information Technology and Business participants will work collaboratively on a tri-national team in order to complete research and report-out on a given topic. During free time, explore the cultural and historic landmarks of the given location.
Interior Design & Architecture: Various Locations
Spring semester every other year, dates vary
During this tour-based program, gain exposure to the real world implementation of historic design, art, and architecture principles in an international context. Every few days, the group travels to a new city which affords participants an amazing opportunity to see a variety of cities, both old and new.

Hospitality & Culinary
Depending on the year, participants can either learn about the hospitality operations of a cruise ship or tour a country known for its culinary prowess. Regardless of the type of program, participants are sure to experience classroom concepts put into action.
