New Student Orientation (NSO)
Congratulations! You are now a member of the WCTC family. Your next step in the journey is to attend New Student Orientation (NSO).
New Student Orientation is required for ALL newly admitted program students (new, transferring and returning). You will not be able to register for courses until you attend an orientation. A list of exempted programs can be found to the right of the page.
At New Student Orientation, students will learn about:
- Register - plan and register for your first semester courses.
- Discover WCTC’s academic support, student support and college resources.
- Program expectations (connect with key faculty and staff).
Registering for New Student Orientation:
First, you will need:
- Your WCTC username and password (default password is your Student ID, unless you logged in and changed it. Having difficulties, contact the Service Desk at 262.691.5555).
- To upload a headshot picture with our myPhoto app (you may bypass this step, but will be required to take a student ID picture the day of the event).
Sign-up and attend an earlier NSO session for best course selection. Registration for courses is on a first-come, first-served basis and high-demand courses can fill quickly. The number of seats available for a course can be found by using the class search. Questions? Please call Registration at 262.691.5566.

How long is New Student Orientation?
NSO sessions last 2 to 3.5 hours, which includes time to register for classes.

Does WCTC have an Online New Student Orientation?
WCTC currently does not have an online new student orientation.
Can I bring guest or a parent?
Family and friends play a huge role in your success and are welcome, but during registration, guests may be asked to wait outside the computer labs.
Is there a fee?
There is not a fee to attend New Student Orientation.
Will there be food?
Light refreshments will be available.
Unable to make a New Student Orientation session?
If you are not able to make a scheduled session, we have several sessions available during the semester. If you are scheduled to attend a specific event but are unable to make it, please call the Student Development office at 262.691.5302 to reschedule.
