Admissions
Youth Options
The Youth Options program allows all public high school juniors and seniors who meet certain requirements to take postsecondary courses at a Wisconsin technical college, the UW system institutions, tribally controlled colleges and private, nonprofit institutions.
The program opens the door to greater learning opportunities for students who are considering a technical career, students wishing to begin college early, or students who want to prepare to enter the workforce immediately after high school graduation.
Course credit will be awarded to the student who satisfactorily completes the college class, with a percentage of that credit also being applied to his/her high school graduation requirements as approved by their school board.
The high school board approving the students participation in the Youth Option program must pay for any course and books that is approved and that is not comparable to a course offered in the school district. The student is required to pay for supplies and consumables (equipment, tools, workbooks, pocket masks, uniforms) that will become the property of the student.
