Medical Interpreter I

Course Description

Focuses on terms by anatomical system to interpret. The terms are related to the body as a whole, oncology and directional terms, as well as the integumentary, respiratory, urinary, male and female reproductive systems. Role play the practice of phrases and terminology. Learn about the work performed in various hospital wards, clear writing for discharge planning orders and patient/doctor/family/interpreter etiquette. The Spanish language is accented in this bilingual (Spanish/English) course. Shadowing sessions of a medical interpreter is included in this course.
