Basic Suturing Techniques

Course Description

This course is designed for the continuing education of the surgical technologist to assist the surgeon with wound closure. Develop the ability to accomplish suturing and knotting techniques and demonstrate your knowledge of basic wound closure. Briefly explore tissue handling, basic surgical assisting techniques, and delegation and responsibilities of the surgical assistant. Enrolling students must be graduates of an accredited Surgical Technology, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years experience.
