Advisory Committees

At Waukesha County Technical College, we believe that the integration of practical and theoretical elements coupled with workplace learning experience prepares each individual for success. More than 750 industry professionals serve on advisory committees to guide WCTC curriculum and ensure that what is taught in the classroom reflects employer expectations.

The primary purpose of each advisory committee is to serve as a link between the community and the college by helping improve the understanding of technical and general education among industry, business and the general public. In essence, an advisory committee provides a two-way system of communication and cooperation between the college and community it serves.

Today, more than ever before, educators and employers must work as a team and share the responsibility for training the workforce vital to the nation's economy. Advisory committees result in employers consistently hiring WCTC graduates who are able to immediately contribute their skills in the workplace.
